Rolfing® Structural Integration

Rolfing® Structural Integration is a hands-on form of bodywork that relieves chronic pain and brings your body back into easeful alignment.

Rolfing® focuses on creating space in your body by manually releasing places where your body’s fascia (popularly known as connective tissue) has become stuck. It is common for the fascia in our bodies to start to adhere—instead of glide as it ought to—due to the trials of everyday life (e.g. repetitive strain, sports, desk work, cellphone use, old injuries, etc). Rolfing® releases the fascia so that your body can regain its structural integrity. Benefits include the elimination of pain and tension, as well as improved posture, range of motion, breathing and more—often combined with emotional release. As a holistic modality, it takes all of you into consideration and creates positive gains for your whole being.

Rolfing® treatments deliver the best results over a 10-session process called the Ten Series. However, a 10-session commitment is not required. During your first Rolfing® session, your certified Rolfer® will conduct a thorough assessment to learn about you and your body, through touch and by listening to your story. That session will also include your first treatment. For all treatments, you can wear as much or as little clothing as you like (sports bra and briefs are best) and the manual manipulations can range in intensity from gentle to deep depending on what feels right for your body.
